Leptomeningeal Disease

I’ve just been diagnosed with this and about to start full brain radiotherapy. This has come after triple negative breast cancer last year then spread to my brain and I had a tumour removed by crani omy in June and just discovered this. Anyone else had it? Got it? Not much understanding just that it’s definitely now terminal  would just like to hear from anyone in similar situation ️ ️

  • Hello Lisl,

I am so sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with leptomeningeal disease. There is information on our website on leptomeningeal metastases which explains what leptomeningeal metastases are and you can find out more too on treatment for leptomeningeal metastases including on radiotherapy for the brain

For any further insight and advice, I would suggest giving our team of cancer nurses a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9am and 5pm. They're very easy to talk to and will do all they can to answer your questions.

I hope that you will hear from other members of our community who have been diagnosed with leptomeningeal disease and that they will be along shortly to share their story with you.

Wishing you the best of luck for your treatment as you are about to start the brain radiotherapy. It must be really hard for you to come to terms with this news and I hope that you will talk to others here who have been through something similar.

    Best wishes,
