RF ablation on lung

Had RF ablation on Monday came home Wednesday, my daughter happily told me l look better than l did before

I was slightly apprehensive but actually having it l would recommend it to anyone given the chance

Haven't taken pain relief since procedure as pain doesn't justify taking more tablets

Cannot thank my doctors enough and wouldn't hesitate to have it again

  • Hi flissy100,

Thank you so much for coming here and sharing your experience. It will be invaluable to others who may be waiting to have an RFA ablation of the lung too. I am so pleased to hear it went so well and that you haven't even needed to take any pain relief since the procedure. It sounds like you were looked after really well and I wish you to continue to make a full and speedy recovery from it. Sounds like you are doing incredibly well!

    Best wishes,

  • Interested to read this as I have been diagnosed with secondary breast cancer and have been looking at this for an option for mets to lungs.

It has not been offered to me, am on letrozole with chemo to follow, but RFabalation looks an interesting option

Hope you're continuing to do well

What area of the country are you in? I'm outer London.

  • Hi Bobtail, l am in Buckinghamshire and was treated at hospital

My lung cancer was found after l had heart attack (class myself as lucky!!)

I had vats procedure to cut out original cancer in 2018

In January this year had a doozy of a heart attack and lung consultant noticed a growth on same lung and asked me would l have RAF ablation, didn't hesitate,

From what l have read it's not suitable for all cancers but if l were you definitely contact your consultant and ask to be referred

I had op on 11th Nov went back on10th Dec for MRI The results were emailed to me same day!!! Saying no sign of cancer , completely gone

    Having 3 monthly check up

I really hope whatever treatment you get that it is successful

Have a jolly Christmas and here's hoping we have healthier 2025

    Xxxx
