I have a surgery for lung cancer with half a lung removed. I still have the cough and the breathlessness that took me into the lung and respiratory unit will ever get rid of the breathlessness and cough.

Hey there,
I lost most of my right lung 3.5 months ago. I’m not sure how far post op you are but my breathlessness has greatly reduced. I do find that I get out of breath more quickly than normal, but this is the new normal for me and will continue to be that way from what my consultant has told me. I hope that you are recovering well and that the cough and breathlessness eases!
Hello to you.
My husband had the top third of his lung removed in February. He was very breathless and wheezing terribly for months. BUT it is improving. He will never be how he used to be and has to accept this new normal. It could take a year post op according to the consultant to reach this point. Some of what causes the breathlessness can be caused by scar tissue I believe.
