Breast cancer

Hi I have just been diagnosed with her2 positive grade 3 breast cancer.  Seems I need chemotherapy first then surgery.  I'm actually overwhelmed.  Has anyone had this particular cancer that could make me understand what's going to happen.  I have also been advised to quit cigarettes.  I am honestly really scared

  • I chased my breast nurse assigned to me she and managed to get an earlier appointment with Oncologist.   I think the Oncologist was optimist thinking I would get a Muga scan immediately.  Part of my treatment is Phesgo that's why I have to have Muga scan as it can affect the heart.  Hope you hear soon.

  • Hi Minnie

    My diagnoses is very similar.

Grade 3 IDC in left breast with Lymph node involvement diagnosed in July following biopsies..

6 rounds of Docetaxel and carbonation with 3 week cycles commenced August. Also immunotherapy jab for HER+  during session.
I used the Paxman cold cap throughout and have retained most of my hair so far, it’s just thinner. I did cut it short before starting to ensure best fitt.

The cycles were tough, but the team did all they could to alleviate my symptoms by switching my meds up which really helped so don’t struggle alone.

My last chemo was Monday this week and a lumpectomy is planned for the 20th.

i hope all is going well for you as I note your frugal post was 3 months ago.

    Kind regards,

    Gill
