I haven’t posted on here for a long time. This site certainly helped me through breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. I had surgery followed by chemo and radiation. So here I am almost 5 years down the line. Last year I had delayed Diep reconstruction on my single masectomy. Good decision for me. I joined Diepreconstructionuk, another chat forum that helped me. Only last week I cleared out all my prothesis, and all scarves, surgical bras and pants. All the paraphernalia of cancer treatment. Another step forward. I’m still on Anastrazole hormone meds. I will ask the Medical staff if I need another 5 years to prevent recurrence. Recently my cholesterol went high and I’ve now been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes even though we have a good diet and I am not overweight. Give me a rest! But mainly I’m posting to give a positive outcome to all those starting out on the journey. I’m 73 this year and working and enjoying life again.
