Blood in urine

Hi, 

My husband has stage 4 bile duct cancer and is currently on cycle 7 of FOLFOX chemo. He’s been having pain in his lower back and today there was fresh blood coming out after he urinated. Do infections cause blood? Does Chemo cause bleeding in the bladder? Any thoughts/experiences welcome.

    Hi I just Googled that and it says that it can be  a side affect of Folfox chemo .

    I'm sorry to hear about your husband's diagnosis and that he's now having lower back pain and passing blood. 

    Whilst this could be a side effect of the treatment he's having it's important to get this checked by a health professional so that any appropriate treatment or investigations can be done to ease things for him. Do give the chemo line, or his clinical nurse specialist, a call this morning for some advice and support. 

    Hopefully they will be able to improve things and make him more comfortable as soon as possible.
