I am glad to hear that your surgery is now behind you and hope that you are recovering well. I am delighted to hear that your nodes were clear. Some cancers don't always show up on mammogram or ultrasound. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer and mine didn't show up on mammogram either. Do you know what type of breast cancer you have and have they carried out any further tests on your liver, kidneys and womb yet? There is also a test to see how well you will respond to chemo. This is called the Oncotype DX test. It is usually sent to the USA, so it can take some time to get the results.

I expect that the delay in telling you any more at present is because they want to find out more about these other organs. Do you have any further appointments to see your consultant? If not, it might be worth phoning your breast care nurse and asking her what is going on. You may find it helpful to write down any questions you have before you speak to her, as it's all too easy to forget something important in the heat of the moment. I always do this before any consultation and find it very helpful.
