Hair growth after chemo - how do I look after it and will my 'normal' hair come through?

Hi everyone, finished my chemo at the beginning of May. Lost all hair.

Now starting to grow back but head hair is really fluffy. I had heard that it can come back like this.

My question is to I have to cut it to get rid of whats growing now or will if left alone will it start growing as 'normal' hair?

Thank you x

  • Hi I am four weeks post chemo and thought that my hair was beginning to grow back. Unfortunately over last two days all of my hair has fallen out. I am distraught emotional and; n a mess.

Will my hair ever grow back?

    Any advice would be appreciated.x

  • I am sending a huge hug. This hair journey is not fun, is it? Maybe I can give you some hope by saying mine just did not seem to want to come back at all. I had lots of long, thick blond hair which I lost almost completely despite cold capping. But it is now growing again and surprisingly fast and pretty evenly. It's greige and now has a bit of a kink. I have a pixie!  I know I needed to hear stories of hope and if that's what you need too, perhaps this can give you some? xx
