Does anyone have Non hodgkins Lymphoma high grade burkitts

Hi I’ve just joined this forum, i was diagnosed on the 28th of June after suffering for over a year with my stomach and after three weeks as an inpatient in hospital which I was admitted to after having blood tests and discovered my HB was 60 and needed to have a blood transfusion and afterwards diagnosed with bowel obstructions I was unable to eat for two and a half weeks I’m now on stage 4 of cancer bowel obstruction diet, I was transferred to a cancer hospital where I stayed for Two weeks before I was discharged just over 1 week an a half ago as an outpatient to receive chemotherapy, which seems to going well so far apart from chemo brain and but I know that can change, I've started to lose some of my hair but I’ve been really positive so far I am lucky I have a big family with loads of support, but I feel like no body understands and I can’t talk to them properly. I’ve researched my diagnosis and it is very rare so I’m not expecting many people to have the same diagnosis as me. Just thought I’d share my experience so far.

  • Hello Pablo80

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some ongoing health problems over the last year resulting in an admission to the hospital and a diagnosis of Burkitt Lymphoma. It's understandably a difficult time for you.

It's good to hear that your chemotherapy treatment so far has progressed without too many side effects and that you have good support from family and friends. Whilst having that love and practical support can be a great help, it's natural that sometimes you feel that people don't fully understand what you've been through and what you are facing.

We have previously had members post on the forum who have had a diagnosis of Burkitt Lymphoma but this was a while ago and there isn't anyone currently active this this diagnosis. You are of course absolutely very welcome to post here, to share how you're feeling in a safe space, ask questions, and talk with others from the cancer community who understand. I'd also suggest that you have a look at the website for Lymphoma Action. They have quite a bit of information about Burkitt Lymphoma, as well as patient stories and a forum where you will hopefully be able to connect with others who are undergoing treatment for the same diagnosis,

If it would help to talk with one of our nurses at any point you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can.

Keep in touch Pablo and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
