Bladder cancer

Hi all.

I'm a 64 year old woman.  I had a TURBT last week. Have mycatheter in for 2 weeks. Didn't have all my tumour removed due to excessive bleeding.

Anxious waiting for the results.

Any advice please?

  • Hi Webby39,

I am sorry that you were not able to have all your tumour removed due to excessive bleeding. I hope you are recovering well after your TURBT and I thought I would share with you information from our website on the TURBT. It is normal to be anxious while waiting for these important results and I would suggest you read our helpful tips on how to cope while waiting for news. These will hopefully help you cope while you are waiting to find out more.

I also wanted you to know that you are not alone and there are other members of our forum who have been affected by bladder cancer and I hope that they will be along shortly to share their experiences with you. I thought I would share with you for example this thread by  who posted here a couple of months ago and was at the time about to have the TURBT so they could be a great person for you to connect with.

If there is anything you would like to talk through, our cancer nurses can be reached on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm so don't hesitate to get in touch with them if there is anything you want to find out more about or after you've received your results.

Everything crossed for you for your results,
