Lung cancer

Got diagnosed late January and have just had a biopsy.  Waiting on results.  This is the worst part waiting to hear how bad it is and what if anything they can do.  Feeling really low want to cry all the time but keeping going for my family.  Worst thing ever to happen to anyone.  I'm so depressed but can't give in to it.

  • Hello Mhairi18

I'm sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis of lung cancer. Undoubtedly this is a worrying time for you and it's understandable that you're feeling so low.

We know that for many people this period of waiting and uncertainty can be very difficult. The unknown can be a scary prospect to face and it's natural that emotions may be overwhelming at times.

I'd really encourage you to talk things through with your GP and also with your clinical team when you next see them. There is lots of support available. Hopefully, once you have your results and the team has been able to talk about treatment options things will feel a little less uncertain.

In the meantime, if you'd like to talk things through with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice and support they can.

    Best wishes,
