10 years on

Hello all. I'm often asked how I'm doing. I was 1st diagnosed with prostate cancer 10 years ago, I won't lie, I was scared. I had radio therapy and hormone therapy for 2 years and was told I was clear. Then it returned to my lymph nodes, continued on hormone treatment after chemo. Been in remission until last month when I was told, "it's back". Off for another scan on 26th, let's see what's next.

In the mean time, just lost my younger brother in law to a brain tumour.

I don't want to be next  my poor wife

  • Hello John-Paul,

I'm sorry about your brother-in-law and can understand you would be worried about what might come next. It can be natural to think the worst, but this can end up increasing anxiety rather than making you feel better. I hope your scan goes ok and don't be afraid to ask questions, as that is the best time do it. It might help to write things down and take them with you to the appointment.

    All the best,
