Then this year April had surgery bowel surgery and on the vagina , came so close to having a stoma . Now I have to make the decision to either go for a different type of chemo, or go with Astavan or have scans regularly . The likelihood of the cancer coming back is pretty high and I will more than likely have a stoma , just want know what other people think , I also have fluid in the heart and also I am in Afib so on blood thinners too .

  • Hello Poppysforever

I'm so sorry to hear that you've just had your third surgery for a recurrence of ovarian cancer. I do hope that your physical recovery is going smoothly.

It can be a real rollercoaster of thoughts and emotions when you find yourself with repeated recurrences and it's understandable that you want to now make the best choices about the treatment options that have been recommended to you. I hope that as well as support from family and friends, the hospital team is offering support if you need to talk with them.

We know that for many people living with cancer, and having to make choices about treatment options, can be a difficult time. I wonder if you might find it helpful to talk things through with one of our team of nurses. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information, and support they can along with helping you think about any questions you want to ask your specialist before making a decision about the treatment pathway. If you'd like to talk with them they're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

I hope that it helps to have somewhere to put down your thoughts, feelings, concerns, and questions in writing. Do keep in touch with us. We're here to listen, Poppysforever, and will do all we can to try and support you.

    Best wishes,
    Jenn

  • Hi Poppy. Jace you tried the face group forums? There are a few that are dedicated specifically to low grade, one in particular is to low grade serous (not sure if yours is serious). The ladies are absolutely lovely and full of helpful advice.

  • Goodness me. That was full of typos! I meant Facebook. Please let me know if yours line the links.
