Pain during chemotherapy administration

Hi, my husband has small cell carcinoma and undergoing Chemotherapy and immunotherapy. He’s mostly okay but absolutely intense pain during the chemo day in the hospital. They give him morphine and today oxy as well. Wondering if anyone else has faced this and would appreciate any tips as to how I can help him during this time.

  • Hello Lalala123 and welcome to the Cancer Chat forum.

I'm sorry to hear about the very intense pain your husband is experiencing whilst having his chemo, but I do hope the pain relief he has been receiving has helped with this.

We do have some information about reducing cancer pain on our website but for further guidance and advice, it may be worth giving our cancer nurses a call on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they will do all that they can to help.

Hopefully some of our members will share their experiences and advice with you soon as well but in the meantime, we're thinking of you Lalala123 and wishing your husband all the best with the remainder of his treatment.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
