Dealing with the diagnoses

Do you know I can cope with the outcome and not knowing what the journey will look like. What I find is horrendous dealing with the pain after chemo, the Muscular pain, dizziness and lack of energy, headache and funny vision.  How do you cope?

  • Hi Ritab,

I'm sorry to hear you are struggling with these side effects - I'm sure this is something a lot of people here can relate to.

I'm not sure exactly what your situation is, but there is some information about side effects of chemotherapy on our website, as well as some tips for helping to cope with this on the Macmillan website.

If you are finding things difficult, do discuss this with your doctor to see how they may be able to help.

You are also welcome to give our nurses a call if you would like to talk things through. You can reach them on freephone 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5.

Otherwise, hopefully you'll get some more replies to your post here soon. You can also have a browse or search of the forum (using the bar at the top) for other relevant discussions and people to connect with.

    Wishing you all the best,

  • Hiya Ritab.  I had 8 sessions of chemo several years ago and the first four sessions gave me awful pains in my legs.  My Oncologist put me on morphine.  Have you told your medical team about the unpleasant side effects you are having?  They might be able to help you.  Good luck, x

  • Hi, yes I have told them. I’m on morphine. I’ve learnt to hate this week with a vengeance. I try to stay active but there are about three days when I find it impossible. I try to be as positive as I can. Xx thank you for your response. X
