ABVD chemo

A week ago I had the first of many chemo sessions with ABVD. I didn’t feel too bad the first few days but then everything hit me. One of the worst is the excruciating pain in the arm used for the cannula. All up the arm from the hand to the top. Has anyone else experienced this? It keeps me awake at night and is so painful.

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat rsm although I'm sorry to hear about the pain you've been experiencing in your arm since starting your ABVD. It sounds very painful.

Hopefully some of our members will share their experiences and advice with you soon but if you'd like to discuss this further with one of our cancer nurses, you can do so on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very insightful, and supportive, and will do all they can to help.

If you haven't done so already, do be sure to let your medical team know about this so they can try and make this more manageable for you.

We're wishing you all the best with your treatment rsm and hope you're able to get this resolved soon.

    Kind regards,
