Living with cancer - struggling to cope with my double diagnosis

At this moment i have a cerabal venous thrombosis on my brain

I’m have prostate cancer and head and neck cancer, 10 weeks post major surgery

and mentally struggling to cope with it all, I’m about to start counselling

I always try to put a brave face on in the company of my family which means I’m bottling things up to a point I’m angry and ready to explode

  • A very warm welcome to the forum Kikoy although I'm really sorry to hear about the cerebral thrombosis that has been found on your brain and your cancers. This must be very difficult.

Coping with a cancer diagnosis can be very tough, even more so when you're contending with two types of cancer, so it's completely understandable why you may be struggling at the moment but I'm glad you've reached out to us as we have many members who have also been in this position, so you are not alone Kikoy and I'm sure you will receive some support and advice from the community soon.

I do hope the mental health and cancer section of our website will be useful, but if you'd like to talk any of this through with one of our cancer nurses, you can do so on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They are very insightful and will do all they can to support you at this time.

We're thinking of you Kikoy and hope you can take some strength and solace from being a part of our community.

    Kind regards,
