Hi Ann,
A very warm welcome to our forum.
I am so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer, but fortunately, both were primary and stage 1, and I have now been cancer free for 14 years.
The only experience I have of this, is via my mum, who also had breast cancer, which eventually spread to her lungs, liver, bones and brain. Cancer is a disease which varies a lot from person to person, so what holds good for one person, may not apply to another.
I am always here if you want to chat.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
Hello Ann I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast spread to lung & bone this was dec 22 I am on ibrance and letrazole & calcium. I know its hard but always think positive. I have lots of questions too. Sending hugs.
Hello .. my apologies at not replying sooner. ThAnkyou for your information, sorry to hear about your mum and yourself. It is a horrible disease.
I have had 4 cancer diagnosis over the past 23 years. I have had all the treatments thrown at me but still it returns. I am now on palliative care as I am not willing to go through chemotherapy yet again.
I felt that was the best option for me as I could not stand being so ill as I do not react well to chemo. Last time I had sepsis and nearly died.
so you can understand my reluctance.!!
I know I shouldn’t moan as there are always people worse off than myself.
thanks for being there Jolamine
kind regards

Hello Janeybb,
sorry to hear of your diagnosis… at the moment my bones are clear. My right lung is barely working, I have a long term chest drain in situ. I am in palliative care as I am reluctant to chemotherapy again after contracting sepsis a few years ago.
this is my 4th diagnosis of breast cancer… it just keeps coming back!
Genetically it has been checked as I have 3 daughters and hopefully will not be passed on to my family.
ThAnkyou for you reply!

HI Ann,
It sounds as if you have really been through the mill.
I don't blame you for declining more chemo. There is a lot to be said for the quality of your life, instead of the quantity. As you rightly say, there are always people who are worse off, but I'm sure that this knowledge is of no great solace, when you're feeling low.
PIease keep in touch as you travel your journey. We are always here for you.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
Hi Jolamine,
ThAnkyou for your kind words.. and yes quality over quantity is the way to go! I will defo keep you up to date with what’s going on.
The hospice nurse has been invaluable.. so thankful for that. Oncology are keeping an eye on me ( out of kindness really) as I’m not having active treatment.
It’s nice to know someone is willing to listen when you need a shoulder.
ThAnkyou again

Hi Ann,
I am delighted to hear that the hospice nurse is so attentive and that Oncology are still monitoring you.
I have broad shoulders and am always here whenever you need.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
