Breast skin after lumpectomy

It’s been 7 weeks now and have noticed my skin on breast is looking like orange peel again. Is this normal? Don’t know if to phone BCN or not. I need more surgery on the 30th/11 as no clear margin. Just worried cancer is spreading. God I’m a nightmare :/

  • Hello hun. Not got my results from second surgery till next week now. But spoke to breast nurse and she said I probs won’t qualify for the onco test. Because my age/size of tumor etc. she said the 10 year survival rate for me with just surgery is 68% with hormonal treatment also 6.5% and with chemo on top 7.5%. So will just have to wait for meeting. Obviously I can say no to chemo just don’t know what to do now x

  • Hello hun that’s a terrible Shane they won’t do Oncotype DX some boards give it and others are hard work they are quite costly I think it was about £3,250 but I offered to pay cause I was desperate to get it but my insurance paid it for me after

i can’t understand how chemo is only 1% they put you through that for 1 %

I was told that also but Oncotype came back low

it had to be your decision  though lovely you have to do what you think is best for you .

hsve you seen your oncologist yet ? I found they had a different view to the consultant.

  • No haven’t seen the oncologist yet hun still waiting to go get results from consultant after this op. But I want the test. Will keep fighting for it. As a lot of women my age have not had chemo. Some have and regretted it x
