Hello Izzym
I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. It's obviously a very difficult time for you at the moment and natural that you will have questions and concerns about the treatment that you've been recommended.
We do have some information on our website about salivary gland cancer but I also wanted to give you this link to a thread here on the forum. Although it mentions throat cancer in the title, there are lots of members who have posted on this thread that have had different head and neck cancers. Some of them have had neck dissection surgeries, and some have had chemotherapy and radiotherapy. There's lots of information that they have shared with each other about their experiences and their tips for coping with some of the side effects during recovery.
We know that some people find it helpful to talk things through their concerns and questions with someone who understands. If you'd like to chat with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. I'm sure they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information, and support they can.
I hope that your surgery goes well and your recovery is smooth. Keep in touch and let us know how you get on.
Best wishes,
Jenn

Hi Izzym
I was also dinged with acinic cell carcinoma. I had my tumour removed on the 30th of Jan and I'm in my recovery period. Would you like to talk about the experience?
Hope your recovery is going well. Did you have a neck dissection and any plans for radiotherapy?
Thanks Izzym.
I had a neck dissection and I have just found out I won't need radiotherapy, I am so relieved =)
That is great news. :)
