Hi, I've just joined this today. I'm a 37 year old lady, married with two children. I've been really struggling with extremely heavy periods and went to my GP about it, who referred me for an ultrasound scan. The results came back that they've found 'abnormalities in the thickness and texture of my womb lining.' I've been referred for an urgent referral to the gynocologist for a hysteroscopy.
In the mean time while waiting for my appointment (it's been a few weeks) the last period I had I was losing so much blood I ended up in hospital and got put on medication to stop the bleeding (progesterone). I know somethings not right and it's scary waiting. While I was at the hospital they told me it's most likely Endometrial hyperplasia and they did a biopsy of my womb. They said I'll probably be waiting 5 weeks ish for the results, which seems so long and I'm just really worried about it. As I know it's a pre cancerous condition. And I'm still waiting for my original referral for a hysteroscopy.
It's just all come from nowhere and it's really scary waiting when you know somethings not right inside.
Anyone else have this condition? I'm already on 6 Norethisterone tablets a day which seems the first line of treatment for it anyway
