Living a life

I have recently finished my 6th cycle of treatment and still taking antiviral/antibiotic meds for another 2 months

In nomansland at mo awaiting PET scan appointment - so no results of treatment...

My husband has been supportive last 6 months but now wants to go out within his group -

I understand life is to be lived however I'm still not going out in large groups and still wear my mask...and feel very anxious about him going out .

How do over come this????

  • How’s your immune system doing - this is measured via blood tests.

If it’s back in the normal range, and if you’ve had your flu and pneumonia jabs, start small to build up your confidence. Maybe sit on a pub or restaurant veranda or beer garden mid-week when it’s quiet? Be kind to yourself and be patient, your fear isn’t stupid, a natural reaction to what you’ve been through. Slowly getting out and mixing will help return your immune system to normal. Once your mind accepts that, your anxiety levels should slowly reduce.

    Best wishes

  • I once heard this "Don't be so afraid of dying that you forget to live" and I think its a really good thing to realise , life is short anyway live it while you can, there are no guarantees even if we wrap ourselves up in cotton wool and never leave the house ,I would start very slowly just doing something you haven't done for a while and see how you go otherwise if your husband does start socialising again you might start to feel isolated if left on your own ,also if everything is ok with your immune system it might be better to start letting go of the mask they can make us feel isolated too in my opinion .
