  • Hello Ruby-m and a big welcome to Cancer Chat,

I am so sorry to hear that your ovarian cancer has returned and I hope that the new treatment combination will work well. Interestingly, there was another thread on the forum a few years ago by [@Martine90210]on hair loss on carboplatin and caelyx which may be of interest to you and feel free to respond to it if you wish to do so.

There is useful information on our website on hair loss, hair thinning and cancer drugs as well as a general section on hair loss and cancer treatment which may be useful to you. I hope that you will meet others here who are or have been on this treatment and that they will be happy to share with you how it affected them and the impact it had on their hair.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to get in touch with our cancer nurses on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

Best of luck with the treatment. I hope it works very well for you.

    Best wishes,

  • In answer to my own question for any future reference…. I am 3 treatments in and yes it does thin your hair and there is a minimal amount of hair loss but so far still have a full head of hat  : )
