Hi Khayal, just wanted to say hello and sorry to hear about your emergency surgery - good news there's no spread and your lymph nodes are clear. Hopefully someone will be able to tell you a bit more about the chemo tablets - best of luck with the treatment.

I had a large tumour removed from my colon in October 2021 (I didn't need a colostomy). Chemo started in tablet form (Capecitabine) in December 2021 on maximum dose (10 per day, 5 tablets in the morning, 5 in the evening). I had the dosage reduced to 8 tablets daily after 2 and a bit months as the dosage was making my hands and feet very sore and swollen a little - my feet became infected and we had to stop the treatment for a week while penicillin got rid of it).. They were the worst effects. I was very tired and would nod off every afternoon but only had one bout of diarrhea. A couple of occasions when I tasted metal in my mouth (weird!). Other than that, I ate normally and got through it without too many bad days, to be honest.
