Anxiety and side effects ribociclib- secondary cancer

Hi, just wondering if anyone is taking ribociclib and how are you managing with it? The side effects seem huge. I start ribociclib tomorrow and worried about the side effects. I'm nearly 47 and off on sick leave at the moment (work as a TA in primary school) I'd like to go back to do some work at some point as being at home whilst the kids and husband work is driving my anxiety insane. I had a week where in my head I had months to live and a family left behind and a house not organised for them to cope. I'm sort of over that now but I do still think about it and not sure where to start! Questions maybe for my macmillan nurse who I shall meet soon. X

  • I'm sorry for the stress and worry the potential side effects of taking Ribociclib is causing.

Many of our members know how scary this can be so you are not alone and I'm sure those who have had Ribociclib as part of their treatment will be along soon to share their experiences and advice.

I'm glad you'll be talking through your concerns with your Macmillan nurse but in the meantime, you're welcome to have a chat about this with our cancer nurses on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very understanding and will do all they can to answer your questions and put your mind at ease.

We're thinking of you KT74 and will have our fingers crossed you won't experience too many side effects.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator

  • Thanks for replying, my message was a mix of issues and quite specific drug wise, so it's fine no one has replied yet. Thank you xxx
