Constantly getting infections

Hi , I finished chemo in September, was being treated for follicular lymphoma.

since finishing chemo I've had constant chest infections, spoken to many of my GPs !! Never ever see the same Doc at my practice.

never really had and face to face appointments just get given antibiotics, I was due to start my maintenance treatment yesterday but after talking to my chemo nurse thought be best to cancel it because my white blood count was high, and she has now  referred to the cancer clinic , I have appointment on Tuesday.
Im really worried something else might of appeared.

Ive been feeling really down since chemo has finished because of these infections and no one taking me seriously, my daily life is getting up taking kids to school do as much housework as possible and sleep rest of the day , feel so ill my chest hurting from constant cough, I feel as if I have no life , scared to go anywhere because people coughing and sneezing .....HELP

  • Ahh poor you. I had fatigue for a long time after chemo but to have a bad chest and cough must be draining. Chemo does take a lot out of you and your body has to recover.  I hope that your appointment on Tuesday will have a good outcome for you and you feel better very soon.

  • Hi you have been going through it chemo and then chest infections it's so draining to feel unwell for a long period. As last you are going to see a doctor on Tuesday that should be able to help you. It's hard to get yourself going when there's so much going on.
Write your symptoms down before your appointment as we forget as soon as we walk into the consultants room. That will help you get the answers you need, take someone with you as they will remember things you have forgotten.
l hope you feel better soon, take care and relax over the Half Term break
