I am sorry to hear that your partner has had to have her breast removed because of cancer. All of her cancer should have been removed when she had her surgery. It can take quite some time for the breast to settle down completely, especially when she has also had an implant. 

It is possible for her to have further re-growth, but unlikely. Did they cancel the scheduled mammogram because of the soreness? The breast is almost "squeezed" between two plates in a mammogram, so this is possibly why they have delayed it for another 2 months, until she has healed a little more. They wouldn't have done this f they didn't feel that this was the best opton at present.
