Had radio on right lung...15 times , every day.. did not have many side effects...only a burn ( please use the cream they provide) and fatique.
Had 12 rounds of high dose radiation with no bad side effects. Couldn’t drink or eat anything too hot or spicy but apart from that it was okay. My lung nurse was really good. Advised that I may have problems swallowing for a short time and I did give up eating meat that needed chewing and bread for a short while but after a few weeks everything went back to normal. Had another 5 rounds of high dose recently and no problems at all this time. Good luck with it. Just pay attention to your body and what you eat and drink for a while. Radiotherapy was successful in reducing symptoms for me.
It does make you a bit more tired than usual during the treatment.
I've had 7 th treatment today 3 more to go.! Stereotactic targeted radiotherapy on tumour in each lung. Recurring cancer from endometrial cancer 8 yyrs ago.Was ill for over 6 wks with the radiotherapy then but this is different .feeling ok up to now bit tired. But they've said will get very tired when treatment finishes + poss some side effects? Got to stay positive + keep going even when u feel like giving up!! Hope goes well for you x
