Zoladex

I have been in zoladex now for 14 months I have the implant every 4 weeks but for the lace two cycles I have had a period a period recent one heavier than last month I'm so confused because the treatment is supposed to suppress the ovaries Any advice ?

    I'm sorry to hear that you've had some unexpected bleeding recently. It's certainly worth talking to your GP or the team who administers your medication next time you have an appointment so that they can give you some reassurance and arrange any appropriate tests that may be needed.

    Hi Sadmotherof2,

    So sorry to hear about your stage 4 diagnosis. How are you feeling now? I hope the pain in your ribs and chest has subsided.

    I have zoladex injections like you, and also take tamoxifen. I did have some heavy bleeding at the beginning, but that didn't last too long. I do remember my consultant saying to me that if I I have any bleeding, to contact them about it. My cancer was hormonal and so they needed to suppress it. Is yours the same?

    I am having a hysterectomy on the 19th Jan which should hopefully lower the risk of recurrence and I also have the BRCA2 gene. Is having a hysterectomy an option for you at all?
