Done with 6 R-chop cycles for NHL - DLBCL but...

I just got over with the 6 rchop cycles (I am a 23yrs old female) and the pet/ct scan is scheduled after one month. The last scan which took place after 3rd chemo cycle showed I was in complete remission, but I can still feel the swollen lymph node below my jaw and the scan also shows it. My hematologist said that it might be a dead mass now but after 6 cycles it is still there and I am scared cause I don't want it to be a cause of my relapse in the future. doctor told that we will be getting a complete picture after next scan, but my anxiety if through the roof.

  • Hello Sara2231

I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling so very anxious ahead of your upcoming pet/ct scan.

I know that we've many people here on the forum who understand the real impact on your well-being and the fear that can arise ahead of scans. You might find it interesting to have a look at this blog post about scanxiety.

It's good to hear that your last scan showed such positive news. Try to focus on what you do know and not think too much about all the other possibilities. This can help you to feel less overwhelmed by everything.

I know that many people find it helps to talk whilst waiting for tests and results and if you want to chat things through with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice and support they can. They're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040 (excluding bank holidays).

Keep in touch Sara and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
