  • Hi snippy I went to hospital to have total hysterectomy The surgeon only managed to take 1 ovary and fallopean tube because he found peritoneal cancer (after doing a freeze test) so could go no further He took a few biopsies o now waiting for results to see if it has spread to other organs I had a ct scan day after op and it didnt show any other organs having cancer So now its just a waiting game Are you having an operation after your chemo?

  • Hi

So sorry to hear your news, but so pleased to hear that the cancer hasn't spread to any of your other organs, this is always good news in a situation such as this.

I think it all works differently for different people and different oncologists have different ways of working

When I was first diagnosed I had 4 cycles of chemo and then an ultra radical debulking surgery, mine took 8hrs and thankfully they got all of the cancer, I had another 4 cycles of chemo and I was then classed as clinically stable.

however the cancer has returned and it is in 3 of my lymph nodes in my tummy, it's the same cancer and is considered to be a local reoccurrence, however it is not curative now, but I won't need surgery this time, only 6 cycles of chemo, and then a daily tablet which is going to hopefully keep the cancer suppressed,

if you ever need to to talk, please feel free to message me, I only wished I had someone to talk to who had the same cancer,

all the very best with your treatment sweetheart,

  • so sorry to hear it has come back again How long were you clear for The consultant told me I would probably be having the treatment you have had Didnt think I would have to go through chemo gain (breast cancer 18 years ago) Everyone says you can beat it again but they dont realize this is a totally different cancer

  • This is a totally different cancer, but there is so much they can do now, I was 2years cancer feee before it came back, there has been other who have gone longer.

as this is a new cancer and hopefully it is primary? You can still go into remission, this is what I was hoping was going to happen to me, but unfortunately it didn't.

pleasw keep me I formed of how you are getting on, I would love to hear from you xxx

  • Hi snippy hope you are doing well Got my results yesterday and I have bowel cancer which has spread to peritoneum So now referred to bowel dpt and they are having MTD meeting next Wednesday to discuss my case Can't believe it's took this long to get to this point

  • Hi Kaza69

im so sorry to hear of your diagnosis and sorry to learn that it's took this long to get your results! This is a common theme at the moment and I'm hearing more and more from people saying that they're waiting longer than normal for results, which is sad,

once they have the MDT meeting they will get a treatment plan set up for you,

Have you had anyone to talk to? For advice and even support? I can recommend Maggies, they are brilliant,

im so blessed to have a Maggies centre right next door to my chemo unit and I often go in for a coffee and a chat, and some of the support groups are great as well, it's a good way to meet people who are going through the same thing as yourself.

im always available for a chat if you ever find the need,

please let me know how you get on as I'd like to support you if I can.

  • Hi have been told the cancer is widespread and they can't operate So I will be having chemo to try and keep it at bay I don't know how I'm feeling probably numb but one day at a time

  • I'm so sorry to hear this, I'm the same, my cancer is now secondary so it's just a case of keeping it at bay,

it's so hard to digest, but it's as you say, it's one day at a time,

you know where I am if you need to talk xxx
