Immunotherapy for Hpv oral cancer

Hi

Has anyone tried immunotherapy for HPV related squamous cell carcinoma?

It's not been confirmed yet that my cancer is hpv positive but I think it's likely it will be.

Also is immunotherapy available on the NHS?  I'm also extremely worried about how long the NHS are taking to get to thr bottom of all this. My first appointment with doctor with cancerous cyst (lymph node) was in June and its still in my neck and as I won't see an oncologist till October according to my nurse I'm worried my options will be extremely limited.  The pet scan has been done and I'm awaiting results for that with more biopsies to be done on the 22nd.

The longer this goes on the more worried I'm getting as I have other symptoms such as potential bladder issues and spine pain and sinus pressure this makes me panic that it's all through my body although I've had a chest ct scan confirm my lungs / bowel etc are clear.

  • Hello Samster1

We've quite a few members her eon the forum who have been through treatment for HPV-related oral cancers so hopefully if any of them have experience with immunotherapy they will reply to your post.

In the meantime, I can see that this page on our website talks about immunotherapy for oral cancers. You might also like to have a look through our "Find a clinical trial" page to see if there's any information there that relates to your situation.

If you'd like to talk things through with one of our team of nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm. I'm sure they will be happy to offer any information and advice that they can.

    I hope this helps.

    Best wishes,
