Does anyone else fall asleep at the drop of a hat?

It's starting happening a lot since I started chemo. But today I managed to nod off holding a cup of tea and let me tell you a lapful of tea soon wakes you up. I was soaked right through to my undies  Didn't bother me as I used to do that a lot when I was a full time mum. But I still can't understand how I can feel wide awake one minute, then be asleep the next.

Forgot to add this is my second time I've had chemo, last time was two years ago. I rememer feeling tired all the time, but usually could keep myself awake.

  • Hi Alice and welcome to the forum.

Chemotherapy can affect different people in different ways but I'm pretty positive you'll find others here who can relate to what you're experiencing. Fingers crossed they will be making an appearance here soon to talk with you and share their stories.

In the meantime, there is also this page from our website I wanted to share with you as it has some info on everyday life while on chemotherapy. I hope this can help a little.

Also, if you feel like asking some questions to our team of nurses, they'd be happy to chat with you Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m on this freephone 0808 800 4040.

    All the best,
