The wife has had something similar for a couple or so months now. It first reared its head before the final docetaxel dose of chemo.

Yesterday, she found out she had primary biliary cholangitis [PBC]. PBC is when the liver ducts become damaged and the liver struggles to deal with the bile in a sufficient manner. Although, it's early stage and will now be given medication to keep it under control. We were kinda fearing what you were fearing, but it's an autoimmune condition. They have no idea if the chemo or even those immune boosters they give people after chemo sessions triggered it. Or if it was just coincidence. They have no idea. Her ALT had fallen back to normal levels, but her ALP remained high and even climbed since her last liver panel.

Taken in isolation, it would be a garbage diagnosis, but looking at the bigger picture, it's actually the best scenario out of a bad bunch.

I'm not even remotely suggesting you have anything like this, so don't freak out, but it could just be your liver taking a battering. Good thing about the liver, it can heal itself given time. So don't always think the worst. It could be other things, and not all doom and gloom.

Hello. I hope things are all okay... 

after reading your posts I am hoping you can help me with ALT levels and meaning. My Dad is currently living with Stage 4 Bowel which has spread to the Liver, he is receiving chemo and immunotherapy. 
 

His ALT has been hovering between 18 and 19. Long story but again, down to the Onc and delivery/non explanations I was under the impression that this was high but after looking online I think it falls in line with a normal males ALT levels? Would be great to have any advice.. thank you x
