bladder wall thick after bcg

My husband has had 6 bcg and yesterday went for his bladder check to see if it was working. We were told that the bladder lining was thick so they took a biopsy. We are worried know because we were hoping they were going to say the cancer has gone and he could start his bcg top up in Oct. Any had this before. Please tell us your story.

    In the past its been the nurse who did the bcg who sent the appt for the follow up course The first year bcg was every 3 months then the nurse who  did them recommended moving to 6 months and sent the letter for the follow up bcg

    I've looked in the file and we found out from gp that biopsy was clear and a couple of days later we got appt to start the new course 

    I've had problems in the past contacting bcg nurse but now they have someone taking messages Good luck but try a phone call to Gp they should have biopsy results by now No news is usually good news Fingers crossed

    The surgeon he is seeing is the one he went to last on the 2/9  for the cystoscope and the look in the ureter and he couldn't get to the ureter because the bladder was thick. So i think the reason he is going to see the same man is to talk about the ureter or maybe even both. Ether way i have a feeling there not going to go ahead with the top up. I just said to Ronnie the same as you said and thought his cancer nurse would have been sending a letter for the top up if there was no problems.. He went for his 6 month blood test check on the prostate IE psa and it had jumped from 5.53 in March to 7.2 on Friday. Then we got a phone call from doctors to have a chat to Ronnie about the PSA result on Tues.When we got the phone call from Mr Paul at St James in March he said there was nothing wrong wth the prostate so i am not going to worry about that. I also found a bit of news about the shaving thing and what it meant. It said ''during a shave biopsy a doctor uses a tool similar to .a razor to scrape of the skin.The result is a slightly indented area of the skin.'' No wonder he was bleeding so much poor lad. Will keep you posted.

    Agree don't worry about postate Like you I'm not surprised Ronnie suffered after his ",shave"

    Ct scan went off fine no problems Had a bit of a boost the technician doing it remarked that's John's kidney function had improved Still quite a bit lower than it should be but it was good to know Urine was backing up in his kidneys causing uti which was what led to discovery of the cancer in ureter Surgeon removed all visible cancer and filled stent Kidney function. went up.a little after that but obviously continued to increase Feeling cautiously optimistic 

    Got to keep drinking the water

    Thats a bit of good news for a change. Do you know when you will be seeing the consultant again for the outcom of the scan ?

    We are not due to see him until November but I'm thinking of speaking to his secretary in a couple of weeks to see if he has the results and ask for a phone consultation Altho i guess if there is something there he will be in touch

    I must say Celia your a lot braver than me. In any other circumstances i would be on the ball but with all this going on since Dec last year i find that the least i know the better. You say you go to see your consultant private. How did you get to do that ?

    I know exactly how you feel 

    John had private medical insurance paid for by his company when he worked We have carried on paying it since he retired The consultant arranged the nuclear kidney scan at his NHS clinic and also the 6 mitomycin When they were done we reverted to seeing him privately

    Good job you kept paying in. It seams a long time to November for the results. We have just waited 4 and a few days. Have to go his nibs has just come back from a days fishing. So i will make a cuppa and he can sit and tell me how big the fish was ?
