Concerned about my best friend

I would like to know if this man is for real

my best friend befriended her Naighbour just before lock down and he told her he had stage 4 lung cancer and only had 1 year to live as he wasn't having any treatment

but through lockdown he continues to work as an electrician calling himself a key worker with early morning starts 5am

conting to smoke heavenly drink and eat very unhealthy I find it a concern as he ask my friend to marry him as he doesn't have long left  and he is 2:6 months ahead  and still doesn't seem I'll to me even though the doctors have now told him there is nothing more they can do

he dose go to hospital for blood tests and has said he coughs up blood

he doesn't have any extra oxygen even though he is heavily over weight

I just find it very disturbing as I lost a beautiful soul within 4 month of being diagnosed with lung cancer mare my suspicions rite

  • A lot of people live beyond their estimated timeframe, and many don't look like death is nigh either. Some just show outwardly in the final weeks or even days. There's a good few on here too. In fact, there's someone close to a decade or maybe more. Type of cancer matters too. Could be a very slow growing one. Basically, there are many variables.

When doctors give people a timeframe, it's only an educated guess, not an exact science. Some people succumb well before their estimated timeframe, some in the middle, and some well beyond it.

I'm not saying he's legit, but he may not be lying at all. His post prognosis habits simply may be a case of "why the hell not". It's not as if smoking is gonna give him even more of a terminal diagnosis if he already at that stage.

I won't lie, I'm not sure i wouldn't just be living it up large and not thinking twice about my bad habits if my time was severely restricted.

My wife, whilst receiving her chemo, was sat next to a woman that has had terminal breast cancer for over 2 decades. She shouldn't be here according to the doctors, but she is and looked and acted fairly healthy.

  • I was given up to 2 years to live in September 2020. That time frame is very close to being up and nobody knows I'm ill. I went in to remission after being told it would be virtually impossible. This month I found out it's back in my lung and I'm waiting for a segmentation.

I have no idea if this gentleman has cancer or not. If he hasn't he's a pretty sick individual to pretend. I'm sure smoking isn't the way forward either way. However I've certainly not looked ill throughout my cancer journey but my cancer is inflammatory breast cancer which has twice spread to my lungs as opposed to lung cancer. I don't think cancer journey's are the same even with the same type of cancer. If your friend believes him you need to believe your friend until you have concrete evidence that he's lying .
