Letrozol and weight gain

Hello - I haven't posted for some time.

I am interested to read everyone's experiences with Letrozol.

I have been taking it since my breast cancer was diagnosed in 2019.  As I declined chemo [had lumpectomy and radiotherapy] I have to take it for 10 years in total. Cancer was also in my lymphs under adjacent armpit. I feel absolutely fine now........but have gained lots of weight.

For the first year of taking Letrozol, I had aches and pains in my arms. I mean no disrespect to the NHS but I could never get through to the nurses at my hospital and only had appointments once a year with the oncology. A centre specialising in natural medicine were extremely helpful and gave me some herbal remedies and great diet advice and the aches and pains have completely gone.

I am a dance teacher and get lots of exercise. I also have a good diet since getting the advice. I avoid sugar , cakes, all the lovely stuff........but.......... at 5 feet 2 inches , I now weigh 11 stone - I have put on over one stone since my cancer. Nothing works - I have walked, run [Couch 2 5K - saw it through to the end last year]. This summer I am just to hot to run but still take my classes - at least 5 hours per week.  I feel the same as some other contributors - I just want to stop taking it now. Surely this gain in weight is no good for me???

Also , apparently, I now have osteoporosis!!!  no symptoms but I was told by an oncologist that if I fall , I would definitely break a bone, and if I broke my hip "I would be a burden on the NHS".  Cannot take adcal or calcichew - they make me feel sick.     I would rather eat fresh leafy , green veg and I take Vitamin D.

It is the weight that worries me more though.
