Me again! Such amazing news that after chemo there is no sign of iinvasive. That's fantastic to hear. 

As you know mine was only DCIS and I had a lumpectomy. Clear margins but had a second surgery for aesthetic reasons. 

Different to you as I have/had pretty big boobs so cannot necessarily compare. Having a mastectomy was mentioned as an option for me but my surgeon felt unnecessary so we went for the lumpectomy. I am now getting used to being wonky! I have a partial prosthesis to even them out but tbh haven't actually used it yet but will definitely will if a special occasion or wearing something more fitted. 

For me the key thing would be how you think you would feel after losing a boob, what options you have for reconstruction (if you want it) and the benefits of mastectomy in terms of managing anxiety of it coming back. 

I had 5 sessions of radiotherapy which were actually easy so from that respect I wouldn't worry. You smashed chemo so radiotherapy would be a piece of cake! 

Take your time, weigh up the options and do what is best for you. 

That ramble is probably not helpful at all haha but whatever you decide, you've got this!

Thanks gorg! Not a ramble at all. V helpful to hear about radiotherapy being OK. I actually made my mind up this afternoon and have said I want lumpectomy and ill cross my fingers and toes for clear margins and no lymph node involvement. Then have my radiotherapy.

Ah that's great that you have made a decision. Must feel like a bit of a weight off your mind!
