my mum had vulva cancer for 7 years before she went into remission which thankfully she is in now and is healthy in that department.    she had pelvic radiotherapy which was the treatment that ended up curing her cancer.   it did put her into menopause but it wasnt immediately.  if you have any questions that i can maybe help with, dont hesitate to ask.   Dani x

What sort of menopause symptoms did your mum experience at the beginning? How long after her treatment ended did they start?

I had a radical hysterectomy and ovary removal for cervical cancer.

I don't have any menapause symptoms as I had HRT from the day I woke up after my operation. I now see a private menapause specialist who increased my HRT and prescribed testosterone, they also monitor your hormone levels in your blood. I did get really hot though when I wasn't on the correct estrogen dose.

After your radiotherapy has finished get a blood test at your doctors they will be able to tell if you are in menapause.

I've got a pelvic MRI and CT scan lined up in a couple of weeks before I see my consultant again so I'm wondering whether these scans will show if the radiotherapy has damaged my ovaries. :confused:

That's really good that you got started on HRT straight away. If you don't mind me asking how did you find a private menopause specialist?
