Cancer Centre in liquidation

I had my cancer treatment and now on post treatment surveillance and clear so far.  I had a call a few weeks ago saying the cancer centre in Liverpool was closing.  It is stressful not knowing how or where my future care will happen.  I am fearful of going back into the NHS system with current backlog and delays.  Is anybody else experiencing the ending of their care?  it would be good to chat.  SMJ

  • Hi Smj,

I can understand this must be difficult. I'm not sure if you've had chance to chat with your current team about what the closure means for you. Do make sure you have this conversation so you can discuss options and get all the information you need - I'm sure they will be able to appropriately signpost you to ensure you know what any next steps will be.

In the meantime if anyone here has similar experience to share then hopefully they'll be along soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

  • Hi,

Sorry to hear about your predicament.

I'm an NHS cancer patient in the same area and have had no difficulty in obtaining tests and scans throughout the pandemic.

The forum rules prevent me from naming hospitals but most NHS cancer centres have private facilities attached - just google the name of the cancer centre and add private clinic to your search.

    Good luck
