Hi,  I have stage 4 ovarian cancer . Chemo was v positive but tumour markers are rising again and I probably  have ascites. Any advice on what to expect with ascites?

Thanks

  • Hi k-lucy, i was diagnosed with peritoneal cancer 2020, the day after 1st lockdown, surgery would have come 1st choice but theatres were closed down, i had ascites so they thought to keep draining, and hope this would keep me comfortable until covid calmed down to allow surgery, but even after having the ascites drained, it came back just as quick and affected my breathing as it went to my lungs, so all in all i had 4 abdominal drains and 4 chest drains before they arranged chemo, and after the first two rounds of chemo the fluid abated
