Ureter cancer now spread to bladder

Ureter tumour removed July 2021. Follow up chemotherapy from November 2021 to January 2022.

CAT scan clear.

Had check up cystoscopy last week and discovered three tumours in bladder.

Consultant planning to shave these off next week.

Very disappointed with current situation as chemotherapy was based on a successful trial.

Wondering what other surprises could show up in different locations.

  • Yes there is mitomycin  liquid which John is having and has been licensed and used to treat bladder cancer for quite a few years and Jelmyto Jelmyto is new it's a gel not a liquid and can be put directly into the ureter It was only approved for use by the FDA in the states last year Sadly the manufacturers have no plans to apply for licences in any other countries Ita depressing

  • Hi Celia, Do you think Ronnie will have to go for a pre op before the procedures .

  • Probably if it's a general anaesthetic  xx

  • Hi Celia just to let you know Ronnie has to go for his health checkup next Tues to our Cancer hospital. Then go for his ureter biopsy and colposcopy on the 2/9. So you were right he does have to go for the check up first. He has to be in on the 2/9 at 7.30 am so where getting a taxi and our nieces partner is bringing us home. I am just hoping he wont get a catheter put in cos Ronnie hates them. His cancer nurse said no so lets hope she is right. We go to Yellowtops fishing on the 10/9 so i am hoping Ronnie will have got over it by them. It's not far from where we live only 9 miles so not far to drive and if he doesn't feel up to fishing we will just have a quiet 6 days away from the 4 walls. The last time he went for the turb and stent in and a biopsy on the ureter he had a bag but this time i don't think they will do a turb hopefully. He went to the docs for his MOT and passed this week so that was a bit of good news. Did you see on the news that they have found a way to change a persons blood group so anyone wonting a kidney transplant can get one because they can make the blood group to o for both people. That's great news.

Well i will say goodnight godbless until the next time .

  • I would give Ronnie a kidney at the drop of a hat. problem is he's are ok he needs a new ureter which they don't do. Anyway we have 2 weeks grace before he goes in and they tell us what they have found but i will fight tooth and nail before they take is kidney and the rest. Just hope it doesn't come to that.

Enjoy your trip i like Skipton market.
