Ureter cancer now spread to bladder

Ureter tumour removed July 2021. Follow up chemotherapy from November 2021 to January 2022.

CAT scan clear.

Had check up cystoscopy last week and discovered three tumours in bladder.

Consultant planning to shave these off next week.

Very disappointed with current situation as chemotherapy was based on a successful trial.

Wondering what other surprises could show up in different locations.

  • What a situation Hope cancer nurse is more helpful tomorrow

I wonder if you could get urine dip sticks from Gp or chemist so you could do a check at home before your appointment Or maybe practice nurse could do one Friday for you

    Keep me posted

  • You have to make an appointment to see our practice nurse which takes waiting time maybe 7-8 days. The dip stick don't come on it's own you have to have a color chart as well and some sort of solution to dip it in . I don't think it is just water they dip it in and I don't think the cancer nurse would go for that they like to see for themselves. It would save a lot of time and petrol if we could do that but nothing is that easy is it.Just have to wait till tomorrow and see what they say. All part of the process.

    Stay safe

  • Lloyd pharmacy sell the test kit with all you need and so I understand do Tesco Hopefully when you speak to the nurse tomorrow ahe may have an option to save you a wasted journey She may be able to get you a check at your local walk in  clinic particularly as it's such a long trip for you

  • Hi Celia, the cancer nurse phoned yesterday at 7pm and wonted to know what was going on with Ronnie. So i told her everything and she said if he finnishes the antibiotics  on Friday he can get his BCG on Saturday as planned but only if there is no blood in the urine. So lets hope it is clear and he get the thumbs up.

Keep me up dated on your John and i will let you know how Ronnie fairs.

    Stay safe

  • I've been thinking about you  you both Glad to know bcg can go ahead if there is no blood I have everything crossed for Ronnie I'm not really any religion these days but my devout Roman catholic friend has been praying to St Jude and I've put in a request to him that Ronnie gets his bcg

John has been out on his bike and I've been to lunch with girls Youngest is 70 oldest 80 !!

    Take care

  • Thanks Celia, the head nurse sounded confident so we will just see. I have my 2 main angels watching over  Ronnie that is my mam and dad. They loved Ronnie very much. So i say to them before i try to sleep "please look after my Ronnie" that is all i can do. So thank you for the nice thought.

Had another phone call from the bowl place and made an appointment for Ronnie to go for a colonography on the 29th of this month. But first he has to go for the dye ct scans next Thursday..

It really is draining me all this. Every week it's the hospital. thank the lord Ronnie can drive cos i cant.

    Take care

    Love Sylvie x

  • I'm like you I'm not keen on driving When I had my lovely Rover mini which was British racing green with a white roof I was happy driving but Unfortunately it reached the end the end of the road Glaucoma plus my lack of confidence means I rarely drive these days Life does seem full of hospital appointments

I try to counter them with a nice lunch out but it's hard when I feel like just pulling over the duvet and staying in.bed

Hang on in there every thing will pass and better times ahead for us all I I Hope

lots of live Celia ps I'm a bit tipsy xx

  • John had treatment number 4 all went  ok He is having a sleep now

Fingers crossed for Ronnie tomorrow let me know how he gets on

    love to you both
