Weight Loss

Hi

I am triple negative ET diagnosed 18 months ago. Been on Pegasys Interferon fortnightly injections (started four weekly but increased after 6 months). I also had a very sore mouth start around the same time which made it difficult for me to eat for about 12 months but I'm not sure if this was due to ET or just coincidence. Anyway I have lost about 10kg and when you consider I am now only 46kg you will understand my concern. My mouth is cleared up although I am careful not to eat anything too acidic or spicy but I am struggling to increase my weight. I just wondered if anyone else had had weight loss on this drug or if I just assume it is coincidence.

    Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to hear of the issues you've been experiencing and I can understand your concerns.

    While I can't help with your question, hopefully you'll receive further replies if there are others here with similar experience.

    I would also encourage you to speak to your doctor as they will be best placed to advise on whether this could be an effect of the drug.
