Hello! Endometrial cancer 1A, currently having radiotherapy

Hello you all, my name is Maria. I was diagnosed last October with endometrial cancer 1A and underwent a total hysterectomy including ovaries and tubes. Now I'm   Undergoing radiotherapy but my fibromyalgia symptoms (especially pain and varied parestesias like itching and tingling everywhere) are off the charts. I am in utter misery and was wondering if anyone else had similar experience and if so, any tips they can share? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. :)

  • Hii Maria, welcome here. I'm sure your going to meet so many lovely people who will support you through this dreadful time in your life.

I'm really sorry about your diagnosis, what you've been through and what you are still going through. I've had radiotherapy and it sucks doesn't it, so many symptoms can come up and I can't begin to imagine how it must be effecting your fibromyalgia! After mine I was told to make sure I got plenty of rest and drank a lot. And that was really important. It's easy to feel tired but keep going because you don't want to give in or be doing nothing but as my nurse used to say, a rested body is a happy body, so if you feel rundown and like you need to rest up then please do. It's so important.

You have fibromyalgia too so that must be difficult. It might be worth calling your care team and just mentioning that and how you are feeling, see if they can suggest anything for you. I don't have that so I don't know what would help.

You may be feeling sick, I was! Make sure you get plenty of water, that helped me and sucking an ice cube may help too if you feel unable to drink much.

    Sending you big hugs!

    Best wishes,

    Jess xx
