Allergy to magseed?
Hi everyone. I'm new here. I had DCIS lumpectomy on my left breast Nov. last year and no further treatment needed. Prior to the op they inserted 5 markers which they call magseed, or titanium marker. My breast was very sore for 5 to 6 weeks after the op. I saw my gp for additional pain killer. She prescribed 30mg of cocodamol. The pain subsided and I was able to return to work. Four and a half months to date, I've been feeling jabbing like sensation in my breast, slight numbness on left arm too. Part of the breadt is tender when a light pressure is applied, some parts are itchy and I sometimes feel a cold and wet sensation on my nipple. There's no visible discharge though. I'm now beginning to suspect that I could've become allergic to the marker(s) although I was told before op that they'll remove all of them. I did some research and found that an allergy to the magseed is possible although rare. I'm allergic to custom jewellery which made me think an allergy to the said marker might be possible in my case. Has anyone experienced this? If so, I'd dearly appreciate your feedback, please. I'm starting to get worried. I'm due to be seen in 2 weeks time.
