Chemo before and after surgery?

Hi

I am having 7 rounds of chemotherapy for breast cancer and will then have an operation though I don't know if this will be a lumpectomy or mastectomy yet. I have just been told by a nurse that there is a chance I might need to have chemotherapy monthly after my surgery as well which has come as a massive shock as this has never been mentioned before.

Has anyone else had chemotherapy before and after surgery?

    Hi try not to worry,I had 6montjs of chemo then I had surgery and then radiotherapy,after that I had another 6 months of chemo the good thing was it was tablet form so I had it at home,I have finished all my treatment now,so to put your mind at rest it is normal to have chemo after surgery x
