Cold Cap Question

I have just had my second chemo and have used the cold cap both times.  Its quite uncomfortable to use.  I have now lost most of my hair, is it worth carrying on or should I just abandon it. I am on EC and THP?  I would be grateful for any advice.

Thanks

  • Hi

Sorry too meet you here. Hope I can help
I am using the cold cap, I have had 4 treatments of Fec-t I have a big bold patch on the top where it didn't fit properly and now I look like a munk, my hair has gone really thin but I still have 60 percent of it.
I have two cycles left and think I will lose a bit more.

I have to put my existing hair over my bold patch so it doesn't touch bare skin, I'm not sure what too say but hope I've helped xx

  • Hi snow-drop

Thank you for your reply, I think I have more hair loss than you by the sound of it.  I had such thick healthy hair which makes it seem all the worse, and it came out quite dramatically over a few days.  I have decided to buy a wig and discontinue with the cold cap treatment.  Its too uncomfortable to carry on with for no visible benefit.

    Thank you x

  • Hi There,

The cold cap is such a personal opinion so I can only share my story, it doesn't mean the same will be for you.

I also cold capped twice, my hair also very thick came out in handfuls. I never shaved my head as didn't need to. I stopped capping and went with it.
I'm now 9 wks post chemo and it's starting to grow back, all new fresh baby hair . Personally I m glad to have it all growing back at the same time, no patches xxx
