Hi just looking for some other experiences. My farther got dignosed with oesophageal cancer 3 years ago unable to have any treatment and was classed as terminal. Wow my god this turn my world upside down. However I had to stay strong for my mum bless her she has rheumatoid auritus and osteoporosis. But cared for him as they been married 57 years the most wonderful parents you could wish for I have always been there to support my family. A year and a half in and dad was struggling and was offered radiotherapy this made a massive difference although we knew this was only palliative radiotherapy. Dad was doing really well then blow me down mum became really unwell ! Mum got diagnosed with high grade lymphoma she also started getting dementia to the point she didn't even know who I was she was told the bad news august 2020 and passed away March 2021 this is why I need to know some other experiences as I have not even come to terms with this yet and dad has become unwell again he just compleated another course of radiotherapy but didn't seem to have had the same effect. They are now looking to put a stent in to help with swallowing fingers crossed he will be well enough to put up with my Xmas dinner again ! I really cant complain the consultant has been great and nurses are fab but I just can't get a direct answer but then everyone is different . I can't bear the thought of loosing him but seeing him struggle every day and missing mum hurts too . With his heart problems he can't walk to far to go away no one can do his dinner that's manageable every day seems the same routine as much as I feel for him it's hurting d so I much . Thanks for any feed back that I may expect once the stents fitted. Dad has done so well was only given 18 months to 2 years we are now at the beginning of year 3
