Quite scared

Hi,

Im 39 from wales, mother of two and my cats servant

i had an hysterescopy and colposcopy two days ago and had two biopsys taken, one from cervix and my womb lining. Im still sore as expected as it was a horrendously painful and traumatic experience to go for.

Ive done nothing but cry and have flashbacks of procedure im trying not to think the worst but thick lining and abnormal bleeding is never good. I already suffer with mental health as it is and my anxiety is now through the roof.

I would also like to meet whoever wrote the leaflet on hysteryscopy and biopsys mild period pain would have been a blessing that really really hurt and i wasnt offered any anaesthetic.

Hopefully results wont take too long but im scared its bad news

  • Hello Moonbeamsupercat

I'm sorry to hear that you've been dealing with some health problems recently and that you're now waiting on biopsy results. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about the results.

I know we have had a number of women who have posted here on the forum who have had similar experiences to you during their procedures. I wonder if you might find it helpful to chat things through with one of our team of nurses? Sometimes talking about these things can help to release worries and fears. If you'd like to talk with them they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

I hope that you won't have to wait too long for your results and that the Consultant is able to give you some reassurance about the symptoms that you've been experiencing. Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
    Jenn
